Who is Diana Dilworth?
I have been involved in local government in our area for almost 20 years. Having worked behind the scenes in New Westminster and Port Moody for many years, I followed my passion to be more involved in the community and was elected to Port Moody City Council in 1999. Now in my third term, I have developed a deep understanding of the issues that matter to all of us, such as transportation, infrastructure, and economic development. I’ve learned how local, Provincial and Federal governments need to work together to achieve the best results. I believe I am uniquely qualified to be your voice in Ottawa.
My professional life is connected to an ever present reality that knits New Westminster and Coquitlam together: the Fraser River. Working with the Fraser Basin Council, a non-profit organization promoting the sustainability of the mighty Fraser, has been deeply satisfying. This shared waterway connects us all to the past, present and the future, to the stories of our First Nations, to the stories of the early pioneers, to the vast wilderness that brings prosperity to the many communities along its banks. My work with the Council has given me profound insight into the environmental imperatives we face in the 21st century. What’s more, my work has given me an opportunity to have a positive impact on a precious resource and insight into the policies and priorities our government needs to focus on.
In my volunteer life, I have drawn great strength from the many worthy causes I have supported over the years. As for former President of Crossroads Hospice Society, I have had the honour of helping those who are in great need of comfort: the dying. Crossroads is a tremendous organization I am very proud of. Other groups I’ve enjoyed working with are the Girl Guides, Port Moody Aquarians, Golden Spike Days, Kariba Community Society, the Terry Fox Run and the District 43 Parent Advisory Council.
As the mother of two grown children, I share with many in our community the experience of raising kids as a single person. I try to show my children by example that we can all overcome obstacles in this life and achieve great things if we believe in ourselves, work smart, work hard, and reach out to those around us for help when we need it.
Today I’m reaching out to you. I need your help. I do not believe our current representation in Ottawa is doing us justice. To win an election in our riding, I need you to vote for me in the next election, join our Conservative team, and get involved in something special, meaningful and fun.
If you would like to talk to me, please call or email me any time. My phone number is: 604-469-8650. My email is diana@dianadilworth.ca.
Thanks for learning more about me and remember, your vote counts!!
Kind Regards,
